What is R-value?
R-value measures how well a material resists heat flow and indicates the material’s level of thermal protection. The higher the R-value, the more resistant the material is.
What type of stove can Hearth Pads be used with?
Hearth Classics Hearth Pads are designed to be compatible with freestanding gas, wood, pellet, corn, coal, or oil stoves. It is best practice to consult your stove’s requirements before purchasing a Hearth Pad to ensure compatibility.

Can I order a custom Hearth Pad?
Every Hearth Pad can be customized in size, shape, frame, and optional accessories to ensure it fits your space while providing the appearance and protection you want.
Can I order a Hearth Pad directly from this site?
Currently, Hearth Classics Hearth Products are sold through authorized dealers and distributors. To purchase a Hearth Pad, we recommend contacting a local dealer. We have over 100 dealers across the United States. Find one near you.
How far should a Hearth Pad extend beyond the fireplace or stove?
Hearth Pads should extend far enough to protect your floor from heat, sparks, and embers. We recommended referring to local building codes and your stove manufacturer’s recommendations.
How can I add additional protection to my Hearth Pad?
At American Panel, we offer superior thermal and ember safety (Type 2). For the highest R-value, we recommend our ThermaShield XTreme (link to section on heat protection page), which can be customized to an R-value of up to 10. We also offer accessories like pedestals and wall frames that can help increase protection for surrounding walls and floors and boost the R-value of your Hearth Pad.
Do you provide samples and other marketing materials for dealers to show customers?
Yes, we have a display rack that comes with 6–20 samples, detailed brochures with product overviews and customization options, along with forms and other resources here.
